So,how do I learn magic?

There are many ways for you to learn a couple of tricks to fool your friends and family. One way is to go online but buying online has a couple of caveats. You must have a credit card to do online transactions even if you are not too concerned with security issues. Also these online shops might ship you the wrong item in which case you'd have to ship it back at your own cost. And most of the time the instructions might be vague especially if you are a beginner in magic.

Another way is to go to a local magic shop. In my experience these magic shops are too aggressive and most of the time sell you magic that you cannot perform due to stringent conditions that must exist before it can performed. Also the sales people usually are not skilled enough and not even magicians at all to give you correct product recommendations. And most of the good packet tricks that are sold in magic shops can be easily made at home because they are based on old tricks from the classical books on magic.

But first here’s a little history of myself..

My name is Solomon. I have been a professional magician doing magic for close to 25 years. I have performed extensively for the rich and famous as well as the aunties and uncles at the usual HDB Block Parties and RC events. I have been a trainer teaching magic for close to 10 years in a retail shop selling magic tricks. My students are household names in the entertainment circuit here as well as overseas. I have also created many original tricks that have been sold to many magicians all around the world. I conduct lectures to reach out to many magicians who are looking for something different to add to their acts. And I also train many magicians in correct presentation and drama techniques to enhance their magic acts.

What should I start with?

The trend nowadays is towards street magic so I would advise you to learn stuff that can be done on the streets. You might also want to learn a couple of tricks that can be done at a dinner table. But I would have to say your best bet is to start with the bare basics like cards, coins and everyday items. Once you have the basics down you can proceed to learn more advanced stuff afterwhich I will advise the best way to proceed.

This course was designed to take the beginner from 0 to 60 fast. You'll perform your first trick in an hour. This dynamic course combines stylized DVD footage(optional) with superb, hard hitting tricks that use ordinary objects to amaze anyone.

Honestly I think being a good magician is determined by your efforts in practicing the tricks and also how well I teach you.

Is learning from me going to be expensive?

Most magicians would quote you a ridiculous price but teach you stuff that is pretty normal. I have had a lot of students who have learned from other magicians and totally regretted it because the tricks they learned from other "masters" doesn't seem to fool their friends. Unfortunately I can't do that because I can't let word get out that I'm teaching sub standard material because it will affect my reputation. In fact the tricks that I teach might even fool the occasional magician that you might bump into.

If you practice the tricks that I impart to you with diligence, you will be set for life because you would have in possession a skill that can earn you a profitable income even when you have quit your day job (which you will).
